Dianne Nola-San Francisco singer songwriter and voiceover artist




Dianne Nola, has released her third album, Queen Bee. A tribute to the classic early bluesincluding several originals.

She has honed her skills by studying with Paul Peña, Caroline Dahl, Patti Cathcart (Tuck & Patti), Pamela Z, Joe Gore and members of Bobby McFerrin's Voicestra, David Worm and Rhiannon. She was fortunate to have once studied with songwriter, Carole King.

In 2003, she released, Poles. This second album was a compilation of originals revolving around the subjects of time and sychronicity. Solo voice was accompanied by Nola on piano and guitar.

In the late 1990s, the performance art group FOODSEXY!, was playing original songs about the erotic nature of food. The group included Nola on lead vocals, various instruments and tap dancing, alongside San Francisco-based singer/songwriter, Margrit Eichler (True Margrit).

She moved to San Francisco in the early '90s to promote her new album, When Are You Gonna Move To L.A.?, and formed the quartet Dianne Nola with Driving On Ice.

Hailing from the rural area of the Central Valley of California, she began writing and performing in cafés as a teenager. She attended the University of California at Santa Cruz, earning degrees in theater and music.

She has been compared to Maria Muldaur, Jewel, Laura Nyro and Tori Amos because of her rhythmic sense and soulfulness. Inspired from her repertoire, she often performs in period attire.
